Pet Care Agreement

This is the agreement you will receive to complete and sign before your first booking. Please reach out with any questions.

PET CARE AGREEMENT

Agreement Term

Agreements will remain in effect for one (1) year from the Effective Date. It governs all pet care bookings the Pet Owner schedules with the Pet Sitter during that period. Either Party may terminate this Agreement as outlined in the Termination section below.

Time and Payment

Pet Sitter agrees to provide care for the Pet Owner’s pet(s) on mutually agreed-upon dates during the term of this Agreement. The rate is determined at the time of booking, unless otherwise approved in writing.

Payment for each booking is due at least 24 hours before the start of that booking and must be made via the secured online payment system (Stripe).

Care and Services

The care and services provided under this Agreement may consist of the following responsibilities, where appropriate: 

  • Send detailed reports w/ photos  

  • Feed the pet(s), change water, wash and tidy up bowls

  • Clean up and dispose of any pet waste

  • Walk and exercise the pet(s)  

  • Provide enrichment and play with the pet(s)  

  • Brush pet(s) if they enjoy it

  • Administer medication as directed

Drop-In and Housesitting services will be provided at your home. Dog Walking services will be provided within one (1) mile of your home and/or at a local dog park, if permitted.

Pet Information

The care and services provided under this Agreement shall be for the pet(s) detailed at the time of booking. Their details and care needs must be clearly stated in the signed Agreement.

Emergencies

If there is an emergency, Pet Sitter will make all reasonable efforts to first contact Pet Owner. If Pet Owner is unable to be contacted, Pet Sitter shall contact the provided emergency contacts.

Injury and Indemnification

If the pet(s) described in the Pet Information Section accidentally dies, becomes ill, injured, or lost, the Pet Owner waives and releases the Pet Sitter from any claim arising from such an incident. If the pet(s) bite or injure the Pet Sitter or any other person or animal, the Pet Owner will be responsible for any resulting injury. In addition, the Pet Owner shall hold harmless and indemnify the Pet Sitter against any and all costs, expenses, losses, liabilities, and claims arising out of or relating to any acts of the pet(s), except if arising out of the negligence or intentional misconduct on the part of the Pet Sitter.

Veterinary Care

The Pet Owner authorizes the Pet Sitter to seek and obtain medical attention and treatment as deemed necessary by a veterinarian. In the event the pet(s) become ill or injured while under the Pet Sitter’s care, the Pet Sitter is authorized to seek veterinary services on behalf of the Pet Owner. The Pet Owner agrees to promptly reimburse the Pet Sitter for any veterinary expenses not covered by the Pet Sitter’s insurance, including deductibles or copays. The Pet Sitter will make reasonable efforts to contact the Pet Owner for instructions before obtaining care, but if time is critical, the Pet Sitter may proceed with necessary treatment without prior notice.

Liability, Insurance, and Bonding

The Pet Sitter carries a current General Liability Insurance Policy with Broadened Property Damage Coverage & Bond, Expanded Coverage for Client Pets (Policy #3ED4169) through Pet Sitters Associates, administered by RPS Eau Claire, Eau Claire, WI, and underwritten by Evanston Insurance Company, covering incidents and accidents that may occur during pet care services. Under this policy, the Pet Sitter is also bonded, providing financial protection to the Client in the unlikely event of theft or property damage. Proof of both insurance and bonding is available upon request.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Drop-In and Dog Walk cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled service for a full refund. If canceled fewer than 24 hours before the service, a 50% refund will be provided.

Overnight and Weekday House Sitting cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled service for a full refund. If canceled fewer than 48 hours before the service, a 50% refund will be provided.

Termination

The Pet Sitter strives to build lasting client relationships. This agreement will stay valid for one (1) year but may be terminated by either the Pet Owner or the Pet Sitter at any time and for any reason, with or without cause. Cancellation and Refund Policy detailed in Section 9 still applies.

Governing Law

The terms of this Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, not including its conflicts of law provisions.

Severability

If any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part, the remaining provisions shall not be affected and shall continue to be valid and enforceable as though the invalid or unenforceable parts had not been included in this Agreement.

Entire Agreement and Amendment

This Agreement contains the entire understanding between the Parties and supersedes and cancels all prior agreements of the Parties. This Agreement may be amended or modified only by a written agreement signed by all the Parties.
